Crest Ridge is FINALLY ready to offer the Trail Boz Pads and Saddle Blankets to the public!

Because we could not find pads to recommend to our customers of the quality we expect…

Crest Ridge Saddlery® is proud to offer it’s line of the very best pads that money can buy. Our Trail Boz pads are made for the avid riders that put many miles on their horses back who want the ultimate comfort for their horse while not sacrificing the stability of the saddle in any way.

We started with a waffle weave neoprene lining for the comfort your horses back both of which are have excellent heat dispersal qualities.

In the center of the pad where the bars of your saddle rest we added a ¼ to ½ inch dense rubber or wool depending on which pad you decide to order. Then we covered this with a soft supple leather for added durability.

For the top cover we added a vented polyester material on which your saddle rests is of the same-vented polyester in which professional basketball team uniforms are constructed of to remove moisture while the pad is not in use. These 3 materials sewn and bound together will make your horse comfortable, keep your saddle lining clean and dry, and the wool inside will last ages as long as the pad is kept in a well-ventilated space.

For those that choose to order wool, we chose 100% wool of varying thicknesses depending on the purpose of the pad. Those horses that may have asymmetrical backs will have the benefit of the wool molding around the area increasing with each use of the pad as the body heat from the animal and will in time form a perfect mold of his back while conforming to the saddle bars at the same time. It is for this reason if you are ordering the wool version we strongly recommend that you purchase one pad per horse and use.

The 1/4 Inch Lift Pad

The pad is contoured to your horse's back with extra room in the wither area. This pad will elevate your saddle off your horses spine to give him extra clearance where it is needed.

The bars are elevated 1/4 inch and it matches the bars of the Crest Ridge Guffey, Sonata and Crusade models exactly. This pad is designed to keep the saddle in place and the lining of the saddle dry. It is cut to match the shape of the Crest Ridge Guffey, Sonata and Crusade models.

Note from Debra
When choosing a pad of this type it usually is for a clearance issue on the horses spine. You should not choose a 1/2 inch pad when a 1/4 would be sufficient because the higher you lift a saddle off of a horses back the more unstable it becomes. So my suggestion is to put your fingers under the cantle between the saddle and the horse and push down on the seat back. You need at the very least one finger distance between the horses spine and the seat of the saddle and then choose your dimension accordingly.

This 100% wool blanket will keep your horses back comfortable and most avid riders prefer wool over the synthetic fibers.
