Elite Guffey
We have
always addressed rider comfort and functionality in all of our saddles.
But in “The Elite” we have gone even further to make this saddle the most
comfortable one you have ever ridden!
The saddle seat is lined with a space age fabric that results in a luxurious,
deep and extremely comfortable surface. This stable, lightweight material
allows the saddle to be as comfortable to the rider from the first ride
as no other saddle seat has ever been.
Our stirrups are set for a Centered seat, where you can ride with your
feet below you. BUT you CAN, because of the free swinging design, ride
with your feet forward or under yourself, as you choose!

Crest Ridge Saddlery® Presents “The Guffey,” a wonderful addition
to our Ardent Series Saddles that are designed specifically for avid equestrians
who spend many hours in the saddle and on the trail. “The Guffey”
is a Beautiful Hand Crafted Steer Hide Trail Saddle that will serve the
rider well for many years to come. The seat is a
center pocket seat to keep the rider in the perfect place in the seat at
all times.
This Saddle is made on an Old Timer, Slick Swell, A- Fork, J-Bar tree
consisting of a Wooden Tree that is wrapped in Fiberglass for extra durability
and this tree can be ordered in a Gaited Horse Version, Mule Only Version
and additionally we do produce a tree that is suitable for both the Gaited
Horse and Mule. “The Guffey” has a Slick Swell and a Deep Seat with
a 5.5 inch High Cantle. All Ardent Series saddles come equipped with
a Crupper Ring on the back of the Cantle. This whole saddle is as
tough and durable as the name sounds and is very well balanced no matter
what sort of terrain you will be riding it in.
To prevent elbow chaffing on your horse our rigging in this saddle is
set at ¾ Hanging Dee on the front, and Drop Rigging on the back.
Hanging Dee rigging is the most durable for trail riding because the dee
hangs and both ends of leather are fastened directly to the tree.
The Gaited Horse Version has a wonderful flair in the front of the tree
so that nothing interferes with the horse's natural gait and the gullet
is high enough not to get in the way of his natural head bob. These trees
are hand set and precisely measured to fit perfect every time.
The Mule Version is incredibly stable! This saddle will not rock as
the mule travels rugged terrain it stays in place very well even when the
rider mounts and the crupper rings as with all the rings on this saddle
is attached directly to the tree for extra durability.
