Crest Ridge Saddlery® Presents “The Guffey ,” a wonderful addition to our Ardent Series Saddles that are designed specifically for avid equestrians who spend many hours in the saddle and on the trail.  “The Guffey” is a Beautiful Hand Crafted Steer Hide Trail Saddle that will serve the rider well for many years to come. This Saddle is made on an Old Timer, Slick Swell, A- Fork, J-Bar tree consisting of a Wooden Tree that is wrapped in Fiberglass for extra durability and this tree can be ordered in a Gaited Horse Version, Mule Only Version and additionally we do produce a tree that is suitable for both the Gaited Horse and Mule. The Guffey has a Slick Swell and a Deep Seat with a 5.5 inch High Cantle.  All Ardent Series saddles come equipped with a Crupper Ring on the back of the Cantle.  This whole saddle is as tough and durable as the name sounds and is very well balanced no matter what sort of terrain you will be riding it in., To prevent elbow chaffing on your horse our rigging in this saddle is set at 7/8 Hanging Dee on the front, and Drop Rigging on the back. Hanging Dee rigging is the most durable for trail riding because the dee hangs and both ends of leather are fastened directly to the tree. The Guffey is simply beautiful Old Timer saddle on an either/or Gaited Horse/ Mule tree and as the slogan reads "This One Fits" and is guaranteed to do so. This steer-hide saddle is hand made in Trenton, Georgia and will last a life time if you simply keep it oiled.

These Guffey comes in a 15, 16, & 17 inch saddles, built on an Old Timer Tree, with a 9.5” Slick “A” Swell, 5.5” Cantle rise, and synthetic Lining. It features 7/8 hanging dee rigging that is connected directly to the tree that is far superior to in skirt rigging that attaches directly to leather only.

This saddle is built on our j-bar size tree with a 6 inch Gullet and the tree is warranted for a full 5 years. Each saddle has Blevins Buckles, Leather Near-Side and Off-Side Billets, and Stainless Steel Hardware. The skirts of this saddle are 24” and weigh between 29-32 pounds depending on seat size and features.  Look at the photos and you will see the superior craftsmanship on our  “Guffeys.”

100% top quality Chrome Tanned and drum-dyed leather (A dyeing process in which leather is immersed in dye and tumbled in a drum, allowing maximum penetration.), strong and durable for the toughest wear. Drum dying is a completely natural finishing process, with no paint being used. It is during this process that the leather will absorb the dye that will give the finished product its final result. Consequently variations may occur due to the dye being absorbed at different rates by the leather, giving the leather some variation in color. Skins that have been chrome tanned are much stronger and less prone to tearing. This set includes a Trail Boz Halter Bridle. A new item for our Fall Line this Bridle will only be available in the Fall Special Packages! The reins are braided  from the bit to 60 inches, then single layer for the remaining 30 inches for an over all total of 90 inches or ¾ inch wide x 7.5 feet long and come equipped with snaps already in place. This Head Stall expands to 48 inches (measuring from the corner of lip to lip on your horse/mule) and will fit most 1200 or less animals. The brow band is 15.5 inches and the nose band is 29 inches on it largest setting.	Elegant, superior quality, comfortable and FITS! The seat is a center pocket seat to keep the rider in the perfect place in the seat at all times. The Guffy comes with EXTRA Long tie strings made from the finest latigo leathers available (cut from the backs of hides to give the best strength and resistance to stretching). Firm feel, yet are supple to work with. Good lacing weight and durable. Enough to hold your bed roll, slicker or just about anything and still have plenty of room to tie securely and more to spare! Crupper Ring on back of cantle is a nice added feature.	The rigging is hanging dee, (a Dee suspended on a 1/8 inch piece of leather and both ends attach directly to the tree) which is by far more sturdy that inskirt rigging that simply attaches to leather in the skirt.  The saddle weighs approximately 29-32 lbs. so anyone can saddle up the horse. The rigging is set at 7/8 to prevent galling OR with the drop rigging in the rear you can also V Rig it to position the cinch from 7/8 to 5/8  if needed. Delivery Timing and Pledge:	IN Stock Items.   We pledge delivery of in stock your saddle in less than 10 Business Days East of the Mississippi (12 Days if delivery is west of the Mississippi) whenever you confirm availability and promptly place your order using a verified/confirmed address. EXCEPTION: We typically ship within 7 business days between Thanksgiving and Christmas; delivery time is then based on your location & holiday congestion. Special Orders or Modifications   Saddles: It usually takes 3-5 weeks to manufacture a special order or modification on a tree or saddle. Please EMAIL for specific anticipated time, as it depends on our current production schedule and previous orders.
Shipping Fees and Address Information:	We ship UPS Ground Service. We will obtain tracking information when delivery is past due. If you will need a tracking number earlier, please add $10 to your total. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and Canada is generally available for an additional $40. Air freight globally is available, please request a price quote. Expedited shipping is often available for an added $45. We may advise for this added charge on orders scheduled to ship between Dec 1st and December 20th. Verified ("confirmed") addresses are the ONLY addresses we will ship to when an order is paid for with a credit card. This protects us all against credit card fraud. Shipping and Handling is 6% (minimum $7.50) of the purchase price, this includes insurance. International Orders: Crest Ridge Saddlery®  ships Worldwide - Please email us for the shipping cost on all International orders. The shipping price quoted will not include any import duty, clearance costs, retail taxes or the like that may apply to your particular country. Unfortunately the import laws and requirements vary considerably in different countries, accordingly you are responsible for these additional charges should they apply. If we are charged for your duties, clearance costs or taxes on the goods, we will debit the cost from your credit card. Please check with your local import broker or customs office prior to ordering. If the package is seized by Customs for any reason whatsoever and we do not receive the package back, we will not issue a refund.
Quality Assurance:	By purchasing from us you receive service and advice that is unparalleled within the industry.  All our current Guffey and Crusade Series saddles are capable of adjustments at the time of manufacturing, whereby we can adjust the saddle to fit nearly any kind of Gaited horse or mule. When we receive your measurements (For measurement details, (see our web page about saddle fitting) we match it to a suitable saddle.  All Guffey and Crusade Saddles orders have to submit the measurements on our Saddle Fitting Page prior to Crest Ridge Saddlery® accepting an order on these saddles. Take the measurements there and send them to via return email. A photo of your horse back would not hurt either! Once we get the measurements we can advise you as to which tree you need for your horse. This way we have a better certainty of getting the fit right on the FIRST try! Traveler and Savannah saddles are straight run saddles. You will not be able to choose any variations on the saddles available. Because we do not interrupt the production for modification we can keep the quality up, while keeping the prices down on theses saddles. When you receive the saddle, and if you are unsure of the saddle fit, post or email us in some side on photographs of the saddle on the horse, with the horse in a normal upright position. We will contact you within (48) hours of receiving the photographs to advise you if the fit is correct. If the fit is correct you can feel secure knowing that you and your horse have many years of riding pleasure to look forward to.   Three Day Evaluation Period A 3 day evaluation period begins when you receive your saddle. If at any time during this three day period you become dissatisfied with our saddle we will assist you in every way to fulfill your needs, if we are not successful you may return the saddle (in good shape) and we will provide a prompt refund.
Returns:	Saddles and Accessories may be returned for a full credit or refund (excluding shipping charges and insurance), but must arrive in the same condition that we shipped them.  We do request that you try your new saddle and make sure that it will fit both horse and rider.  Please use extra care to keep the saddle in mint condition, without scratches, dirt or horse hair.  A restocking fee will be charged to cover any damage or cleaning costs. If the saddle does not fit the horse or rider, you should call before the saddle is returned in case it is necessary to ask additional questions or to have you take pictures or make measurements.  Please do not use Styrofoam peanuts for packing. Upon receipt of the item here at the store we will inspect the item.  If it is still in new condition, we will gladly refund the entire purchase price of the item.  If these conditions are not met there will be a 30% restock fee charged. Please phone (870) 499-7413 in advance for return merchandise authorization code (RMA) before returning any goods; without this code your return will not be accepted. Make sure the return authorization code is clearly marked on the topside of the return carton. If exchange or refund merchandise is not returned in original unused condition, a 30% restock fee is charged to allow for a reduced re-selling price. If the goods you are returning have been altered or modified in anyway, this will immediately terminate any exchange of return provision offered above. Credit card returns (credits) and refund checks (if you paid by check) can take up to 10 days to be processed after we have received the returned goods. (Return provision does not apply to clearance items, custom orders, used merchandise or lay away purchases). Special and Custom orders refer to any order that was ordered produced, for the customer on the customer's behalf. Special and Custom orders generally take 3 to 5 weeks, however they can sometimes take longer due to unexpected shortages in raw materials or other unexpected conditions. Most special orders (in excess of 80%) are delivered within the 3 to 5 week period; however should a delay develop please understand we have no control over this. Special and Custom order merchandise are ordered on your behalf and accordingly are absolutely non-refundable. Cancellation Policy You cannot cancel your order after shipment has been made.
